My experience during that week was very long, but very fun. There were ups and downs for sure but it really felt like we bonded a lot with each other and got to learn about things that we weren’t aware of before. I learned a lot from visiting Santa Barbara and the info session we had there.
I noticed that at Chapman University it was really small, more focused on specific things rather than like a Cal Poly Slo or UC Santa Barbara where there was a variety of subjects to study. UC Merced however was unlike any other college I’ve ever seen, it was small and big at the same time.
This experience has definitely made me more open to other colleges and helped me realize what I want in college and where I want it to be. Being away from home was comfortable and I knew that I wasn’t far enough for me to miss them as much as I would if I were in another state or country. I loved seeing how the college communities interacted with each other, such as a majority of UC Santa Barbara students rode bikes and were really invested in political and environmental issues.
For me personally I know that I am most looking forward to amazing opportunities, to do great things and learn about great things. Working toward a greater goal has always been something that I’ve enjoyed, so I know that whatever I happen to working toward in college will be something that I enjoy for the most part.
I think that when it comes to concerning things in college, I’m worried about not being able to keep up with the workload, not being smart enough, and having study problems. Basically all the components that keep you from passing your classes.
I’m definitely interested in studying abroad, I think that it would be a really incredible experience, especially being able to do humanitarian work as well as studying.
I know that I want to attend a college that has a really good medical program, because this is the field that I want to go into. I think that I would have to look for colleges in California, I love the area and I love that I wouldn’t be too far away from home but far enough that I would have my own space and a new area to experience
